Hummingbird as it appears in Xeno Fighters R. Its original XB-3 designation is replaced with the initials XFR.
Hummingbird (full name: XB-3 Hummingbird var. XFR) is the midboss of Stage EX-6 (San Diego). It is a guest boss from Raiden Fighters 2: Operation Hell Dive, and also appeared as a miniboss in Raiden Fighters Jet in the final stage of the failure branch, level 35.

The Hummingbird is a large black jet plane with thrust vectored engines and canards. It has many hardpoints that fire bullets. There is a wing-mounted gun on each wingtip.
In Xeno Fighters R, the designation "XFR" is painted on Hummingbird's right wing, an abbreviation of the game's title.
Hummingbird moves fast for its size, using its speed and agility to trap players with bullet streams, and in Xeno Fighters R when Hummingbird is low on health on the last phase, it launches up to 64 destructible missiles straight ahead along with random-direction bullets. It releases a Fairy when destroyed.

- The Hummingbird's design basis is that of the family of birds of the same name. Its shape resembles a hummingbird in flight, and its agility is inspired by the hummingbird's unique flight capabilities.
- In Xeno Fighters R, the Hummingbird's first phase are based on its Raiden Fighters 2: Operation Hell Dive initial attacks, while its' second phase attacks are based on the final phase attacks of the 5th stage boss of Raiden II, Black Bird.
- In Raiden Fighters Jet, the XB-3 designation is missing and the Hummingbird is recolored red.
