The Gyaraga (ギャラガ) is a space fighter from Namco's Galaga series. In Xeno Fighters R, the Gyaraga has the highest attack rating in the game, along with being one of the few fighters that has a transformation Bomber.
Description[]
The Gyaraga has the highest attack rating in the game, though this is offset by a low rate of fire and poor coverage. The Gyaraga has a Slave mechanic that is unique only to it.
The Gyaraga uses both Laser and Missile weapons simultaneously, but each needs to be powered up individually.
Loadout[]
Laser Weapon[]
Space Blaster: Shoots a single laser shot, dealing heavy damage to larger enemies and piercing small enemies.
Power level 1 is from the original Galaga game. Power level 2 is the Gaplus standard shot. Power level 3 is the Triple Fighter's shot from Galaga ‘88. Maximum power level 4 is the Hyper shot from Gaplus.
Fully powered up, the Gyaraga summons two Boss Galagas in formation in front of it to fire twin forward shot streams. The Boss Galagas do not protect the Gyaraga from enemy fire, not do they grant a free hit on the Gyaraga. The Gyaraga is destroyed in one hit no matter the power level of this weapon.
Missile weapon[]
Bug Missile: Launches Galaga bugs, which home in to enemies and explode into damaging blasts.
Bomber[]
Triple Fighter ‘88: Emits a huge shockwave and transforms Gyaraga into the Triple Fighter from Galaga ‘88. The Gyaraga is invincible for 6.5 seconds and its Space Blaster is overridden by a Triple shot. The Triple Fighter itself destroys enemy bullets and deals minor overlapping damage to enemies. The Gyaraga cannot use this Bomber again for a brief period.
Slaves[]
Tractor Beam: Uses the Boss Galaga's tractor beam to capture small enemies and convert them to wingmen, up to a maximum of 4. If no enemies are captured, a Boss Galaga itself will be captured.
Unlock requirements[]
